Paws in the Park

Tue 18 Aug 2026 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM Central Park Café, CM1 1LQ

After a long day, sometimes all you need is a walk in the park, a drink in hand, good food, friendly faces and a dog (or a couple of them!) by your side.

Paws in the Park is a relaxed evening social for dogs of all breeds, shapes and sizes and the people who love them. Hosted by Tails Together in partnership with Central Park Café, this event brings together local dog owners for an easy, sociable evening in one of Chelmsford's best-loved park settings.

Think of it as an evening walk, part doggie social, part casual get-together. Come along after work, meet up with some friends, make some dog-loving connections, enjoy delicious food and drink (including pupcup!) from Central Park Café, and let your dog be part of your evening too.

This is a social for the whole dog community - from tiny paws to bigger breeds, young dogs to golden oldies, playful pups to chilled companions. It is a chance to unwind, get outdoors while the long summer nights are still with us, enjoy the park and spend time with people who understand that dogs are not just pets, they are part of the family.

Get booking early - as tickets are limited

Why come along?

Because walkies in the park are better when they become social.

Tails Together has been created for people who see their dogs as part of the family and want to include them in more of life’s social moments.

This event is all about celebrating that bond — creating a space where dogs can enjoy themselves, humans can connect, and everyone leaves with lovely memories, cute photos and maybe even a few new dog-loving friends.

Paws in the Park is for anyone that wants to enjoy a relaxed evening out with their dog(s), meet other local owners, catch up with friends or simply do something a little different at the end of the day.

Food and drink is included in the ticket price - and so is a pupcup - so you won't be going hungry or thirsty. Stay for refreshments, join in the activities or just sit back and enjoy the atmosphere. Whether your dog is sociable or more of a calm observer, this is designed to be an easy, friendly way to spend an evening together.

A different kind of doggie social

This is not a formal dog show, training class or highly structured event. It is a relaxed, community-led evening where dogs and their owners can come together in a welcoming park setting.

There may be simple dog-friendly activities, photo moments or social prompts on the evening, but the main focus is connection: dogs meeting dogs, owners meeting owners, and everyone enjoying a lovely evening in the park.

This event is open to all well-behaved dogs - no matter the size, shape or breed.

At Central Park Café

Central Park Café is a brilliant setting for Paws in the Park - relaxed, welcoming and right in the heart of one of Chelmsford’s favourite outdoor spaces.

It is the perfect place to turn an evening walk into something more social: a chance to enjoy good food, drinks, fresh air and friendly company with your dog by your side.

Tails Together will bring the doggie fun, social moments and community feel. Central Park Café will bring the park-side charm, delicious food and drink, and the perfect spot to unwind together.

Pup cups and treats

Every dog attending will receive one complimentary pup cup as part of their ticket.

Other dog-friendly treats or extras may be available on the day, depending on the event setup.

If your dog has allergies or specific dietary needs, please let us know before the event and bring anything they may need to keep them comfortable and safe.

Good vibes, cute photos and local community

This is your chance to meet other local dog people who understand just how special your dog is.

Expect a friendly, informal event where you can chat, take photos, enjoy the atmosphere and celebrate the joy dogs bring to our lives.

Come for the dogs, stay for the good vibes, and leave with a camera roll full of little dogs being adorable.

Safe and social

To help everyone have a lovely time, please only bring dogs who are:

# Friendly and well-socialised

# Healthy and not contagious

# Up to date with vaccinations

Dogs remain the responsibility of their owners at all times. Please keep an eye on your dog, clean up after them, and be considerate of other guests and dogs throughout the event.

Tails Together and Central Park Café ensure that:

# The venue is dog-proof and safe for them to roam.

# A risk assessment is carried out prior to the event.

# All staff are briefed on logistics and safety trained prior to the event.

Terms and Conditions

By purchasing a ticket for a Tails Together event, you agree to the terms and conditions set out below. These are designed to help keep the event safe, enjoyable and fair for all dogs, owners, guests, staff and venue partners.

1. Event organiser and venue

This event is organised by Tails Together in partnership with Central Park Café.

Tails Together is responsible for event planning, ticketing, dog-focused activities, event styling and customer communication. Central Park Café  is the host venue and is responsible for its own food, drink and venue operations.

2. Dog suitability

All dogs attending must be friendly, well-socialised, healthy and comfortable in a social environment with other dogs and people.

Please do not bring your dog if they are unwell, contagious, in season, aggressive, extremely fearful, or likely to become distressed in a busy event setting.

Dogs should be up to date with their vaccinations. We will not routinely check vaccination records, but by booking you confirm that your dog is suitable to attend.

Any dog showing aggressive, unsafe or highly distressed behaviour may be asked to leave the event. This decision will be made at the discretion of Tails Together and/or venue staff.

3. Owner responsibility

Owners remain fully responsible for their dog at all times.

You are responsible for your dog’s behaviour, welfare, safety and any actions they take during the event. This includes any injury, damage or incident involving another dog, person, staff member, venue property or event equipment.

Tails Together and Central Park Café cannot accept responsibility for the behaviour or actions of dogs attending the event. If an incident occurs between dogs or between a dog and another guest, this must be resolved between the relevant owners or parties involved.

We recommend checking that your pet insurance includes public liability cover in case your dog causes injury or damage.

4. Supervision and dog-to-human ratio

Dogs must be supervised by their owner or responsible adult throughout the event.

If you are bringing more than one dog, please make sure you have enough adults in your group to manage them safely and responsibly. As a guide, we recommend no more than two dogs per responsible adult.

5. Tickets and entry

All guests attending the event must have the correct ticket.

Each booking must include the appropriate ticket for the dog and human attending. Additional humans and additional dogs must be booked separately where required.

Please do not attend with extra guests or dogs who have not been included in your booking, as we manage capacity carefully for safety, comfort and venue planning.

Tails Together reserves the right to refuse entry where the wrong ticket has been purchased, where a guest arrives without a valid ticket, or where the booking does not match the people or dogs attending.

6. Children

Children are welcome where stated on the event page, but they must be included in the booking where required and closely supervised by an adult at all times.

The safety and comfort of the dogs is our priority. Children must behave calmly and appropriately around the dogs and should not run, shout, chase, grab, pick up, feed, crowd or overwhelm any dog.

Parents and guardians are fully responsible for their children throughout the event. Please make sure children understand that some dogs may not be comfortable around children, or potentially be nervous, small, delicate or easily startled.

If a child is running around, behaving unsafely, not listening to instructions, or acting in a way that could distress or endanger the dogs, the child and their accompanying adult may be asked to leave the event at the discretion of Tails Together or venue staff.

No refund will be given where guests are asked to leave due to unsafe or inappropriate behaviour.

7. Pup cups, treats and allergies

Each dog ticket includes one complimentary pup cup, unless otherwise stated on the event page.

Additional dog treats, food, drinks or extras may be available to purchase separately.

If your dog has allergies, intolerances or specific dietary needs, please contact us before the event and bring anything your dog may need. Owners are responsible for deciding whether any treat, pup cup or product is suitable for their dog.

8. Human food and drink

Food and drink for humans is included in the ticket price unless otherwise clearly stated on the event page.

Your tickets entitles you to the buffet a 1 drink (prosecco, beer, cold drink or similar). Central Park Café will have food and drinks available to purchase during the event, should you want it. Any purchases from the venue are managed directly by the venue.

9. Behaviour and event atmosphere

Tails Together events are designed to be friendly, relaxed and enjoyable. Guests are expected to behave respectfully towards other attendees, dogs, staff and the venue.

Please give dogs space, allow them to approach in their own time, and avoid overwhelming dogs who may be shy, nervous or settling in.

Any guest behaving in a way that is unsafe, aggressive, disruptive or inappropriate may be asked to leave.

10. Cleaning and dog mess

Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their dog inside and outside the venue.

Please bring poo bags and dispose of waste responsibly. If your dog has an accident, please let a member of staff know as soon as possible so the area can be cleaned safely.

11. Photography and filming

Photography and video may be taken at Tails Together events for use on our website, social media, marketing, press, advertising and future event promotion.

By attending the event, you understand that you, your guests and your dog may appear in event photography or video content.

If you would prefer not to be photographed or filmed, please let us know before or during the event. We will do our best to respect this, but we may not always be able to remove images or footage once content has already been published, shared or used in public-facing materials.

Guests are welcome to take their own photos and videos, but please be considerate of other guests and dogs.

12. Refunds and transfers

Tickets are non-refundable as standard because our events are planned around confirmed bookings, venue arrangements, capacity, staffing, pup cups, props and materials.

If you can no longer attend, please contact us as soon as possible. At our discretion, we may be able to transfer your ticket to another person.

Tickets must not be resold for more than the original purchase price.

If Tails Together cancels the event and no suitable alternative is offered, ticket holders will be contacted with the available options. Booking fees charged by Ticket Tailor may be non-refundable.

13. Event changes

Tails Together and Central Park Café reserves the right to make reasonable changes to the event where needed. This may include changes to timings, layout, activities, styling, suppliers, ticket arrangements or event content.

If we need to reschedule, postpone or cancel the event, we will aim to give ticket holders as much notice as possible.

14. Weather and circumstances outside our control

If the event can still go ahead safely, refunds will not usually be offered due to weather or personal circumstances.

If severe weather, venue issues, safety concerns or circumstances outside our control mean the event cannot safely go ahead as planned, Tails Together may postpone, reschedule or cancel the event.

15. Liability

Attendance is at your own risk.

Tails Together and Central Park Café are not responsible for loss, injury, damage or incidents caused by dogs, owners, guests or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

16. Contact

If you have any questions before booking, especially about whether your dog is suitable for the event, please contact Tails Together before purchasing your ticket.
