Step into a weekend of elegance, passion, and connection at The Best of Both Worlds Tango Weekender. Hosted in the superb 4-star Crowne Plaza East Midlands,  this three-day celebration brings together the richness of traditional tango with the energy of modern nuevo over 2 dance halls.

This is a full board weekender: enjoy luxury accommodation, delicious meals throughout, and dancing from morning until late night—all under one roof. Relax, dance, learn, and socialise without worrying about a thing.

Your six guides for the weekend are the internationally acclaimed maestros Rafael Busch and Susanne Orpitz, Alexandra Wood & Guillermo Torrens and we welcome back Cedric & Elenora who were a fab hit in November. All renowned for their artistry, musicality, and inspiring teaching.

Workshops & Learning

Across the weekend, your international Maestro's will lead a progressive series of workshops exploring:

• Salon Elegance – master refined walk, embrace, and traditional figures
• Nuevo Expression – playful dynamics, musical interpretations, and creative structures
• Musicality & Connection – for dancers who want to go deeper into the music and their partner connection
• Technique & Adornos – for both leaders and followers, adding quality and beauty to every step

Workshops are carefully structured, offering separate Traditional & Nuevo workshops to give dancers “the best of both worlds”—balancing technical detail with creative freedom.

 Social Dancing

Every evening, the Crowne Plaza transforms into a haven for tango lovers with dual-room milongas:

• The Ballroom – traditional tango music in tandas with cortinas, elegant atmosphere, and cabeceo-friendly layout.
• The Alternative Room – modern, eclectic, and neo-tango flavours for adventurous dancers.

Expect top DJs, an uplifting social vibe, fabulous sound systems, superb lighting & visual effects and dancing into the early hours.

Full Board Comfort

• Full Board: Accommodation, breakfast, lunch, dinner, workshops and late-night dancing included in your package from just £320pp.
• If you want single room occupancy the weekend carries a single room supplement of an additional £75
• Hotel facilities: Onsite bar, spa, pool, and gym—perfect for winding down between workshops and milongas.
• Convenience: No commuting, no searching for food—everything is provided so you can fully immerse yourself in tango.

 The cost of the weekend

Early bird booking price is £320 per person based on 2 people sharing, If single room occupancy is required this carries an additional £75 Single supplement charge early bird bookings end on 1st February 2026, after that the cost will rise to the full amount of £345 per person. 

Places are only secured with a £50 per person non-refundable deposit, even if your place is resold.

THE HOTEL
It takes place in the intimate environment of a 4 STAR hotel in the East Midlands. Due to the layout of the hotel you can arrive on Friday and stay in your dance shoes until Sunday - perfect.

The hotel has really friendly staff and has recently been extensively updated. It benefits from an excellent Marco Pierre White Restaurant, with food being prepared on-site, meaning the hotel is able to accommodate most special diary requirements (please notify Zoe in advance)

Crowne Plaza Kegworth Hotel is about two miles from East Midlands Parkway railway station, it's also on a 24 hour bus route with easy access from Nottingham and Derby! Finally it's only three miles from East Midlands International Airport! Crowne Plaza East Midlands Hotel is very well located, however you choose to travel.


Expect top tuition through the day, great food, comfortable rooms and some of the very best Alt Tango.

As always, some of the most excellent and top notch teachers the UK & Europe has to offer who bring such energy, fun & quality teaching.....quite unique in what they do. It is a magical, FULL BOARD, Weekend of Traditional Tango & Alternative Tango enveloped in a unique, friendly atmosphere. In fact, it's a perfect environment for learning in. With different teachers, and a selection of DJ’s who you will have seen on the Traditional & Alternative Tango scene with dance instruction through the day, and social dancing through into the wee small hours, this is a weekend to seriously accelerate your dancing.

MEALS

ALL MEALS WILL HAVE VEGETARIAN, VEGAN & DIARY FREE CHOICES, THESE DIETARY REQUIREMENTS NEED TO BE PROVIDED TO ZOE AT TIME OF BOOKING.

BREAKFAST – Full English, Continental, Cereals, Fruit, Bread cheeses and meats.

LUNCH – Included in the price Lunch will be provided by Chef on the Saturday and Sunday.

EVENING MEAL – Full-board, Evening Meals will be provided by Chef on the Friday & Saturday Evening

SUNDAY EVENING MEAL NOT INCLUDED

If you wanted to book an extra night with the hotel at a discount to extend your stay till the Monday, the Hotel have a wonderfully priced evening meal menu for the Sunday that you can order your Sunday evening meal or grab a take away. We can take your name, pass it on to the hotel who you can pay direct for this extra night which includes Breakfast on the Monday morning at checkout.
