Unbox Your Words Pick'n'Mix Writing Workshop

I'm calling this a Pick'n'Mix workshop after the enormous and colourful displays of sweets/candies I grew up with here in the UK, where you could grab a paper bag and put all sorts of different kinds in your bag, from jelly babies and cola bottles to chocolate-covered nuts and toffees, whatever were your favourites, and new ones you wanted to taste. I thought we might do a little picking and mixing with written forms too!

Are you writer of short fiction who is eyeing up the line break, but is a bit nervous? A devotee of verse and stanza who is wondering what can be done in sentences and paragraphs? A writer of long fiction who fancies something short but doesn't know where to start? A writer of anything at all who is intrigued about the idea of hybrid writing? A brand new writer curious and enthusiastic about all word shapes? At this Pick'n'Mix workshop, you can try your (writing) hand at several different flavours - things called "poems", stuff called "flash fiction" and some hybrid pieces - and see what you might like to sample more of! 

This live Zoom workshop will be interactive, a combination of writing exercises and reading & discussion of a variety of pieces in different shapes and forms brought by Tania Hershman to inspire and pass on permission  - to create new work or help you write something you've wanted to write for a while but were having trouble approaching directly.

Join live online at the time and date shown using the Zoom link you will receive by email the day before the workshop. The workshop will also be recorded for ticket holders who can’t attend live, who want to watch again, or who miss a portion of the event. The link to the recording and any reading materials will be sent out to all ticket holders shortly after the event.
