Unbox Your Words: Unwritten Women - Filling History's Gaps
Share this event
History has many, many gaps in it - and much of what's forgotten or unwritten involved what women did, across the world, in all fields, from art and science to inventions, politics, sport, and so much more! Did you know that a woman invented the game of Monopoly as a way to highlight the evils of monopolies - and that it was stolen and sold by a major game company without crediting her? Have you heard of the woman who was the first person to go over Niagara Falls in a barrel? Join me to learn more about these women and so many others, and to tell their stories, in your own way and in any word-shapes, from fiction and poetry to creative non-fiction and hybrids. Let's fill in history's gaps!

I'll send out the Zoom link by email the day before, and it would be wonderful if you could join us live on the night, but if not, I'll send everyone the link to the recording shortly after the workshop ends together with any reading materials and links that I mentioned.
This in an interactive Zoom workshop, with a combo of writing exercises and various pieces in different shapes and forms that I bring for us to read an discuss - to inspire you to create new work or help you write something you've wanted to write for a while but were having trouble approaching directly! You're very welcome to have your camera off, if that's more comfortable for you. Everyone will be on mute and everything you write will be just for you, no-one ever has to share anything. You're very welcome to have your camera off, if that's more comfortable for you.
