The theme of my very first Unbox Your Words course is “unboxing your words”, and we will explore different word-shapes and configurations, trying out some swerving, shapeshifting, transformation and hybrid writing, to help you write what you want in the way you want to write it, resisting the oh-so-pervasive "shoulds" and "rules" that so many seem to want to foist on us. More intimate than my usual workshops, the group will be a maximum of ten people, to open up space for discussion and, I hope, the creation of a community of writers who can keep giving each other permission once the formal course has finished.

**In contrast to my one-off Zoom workshops, because the focus of this course is as much on discussion as on writing, the workshops won't be recorded. Please only sign up if you're able to come to at least three of the four workshops.**

The course has four parts:

- Two 2-hour Zoom workshops in June (Sun 7th and Sun 21st, both 7-9pm UK time)

- A writing assignment over the summer

- Two 2-hour Zoom workshops in Sept (Sun 13th and Sun 27th, both 7-9pm UK time).

- Each participant will be offered a one-on-one 'Permission Conversation' with me on Zoom to talk about your work, to be scheduled at a time that works for you within six months of the end date of the course.

The workshops will include writing exercises and reading and discussion of pieces in different shapes and forms that I bring for us - to inspire you to create new work or help you write something you've wanted to write for a while but were having trouble approaching directly. Everything you write will be just for you, no-one will be pressured to share work, and you're very welcome to have your camera off, if that's more comfortable for you.
