Permission to Draw Course

Tue 29 Sep 2026 7:30 PM - Tue 1 Dec 2026 9:00 PM BST Online, Zoom

Learn to draw what you see in your own way.

The Permission to Draw course gives you a regular, supportive space to learn the essential tools for observational drawing. You’ll gain practical drawing skills, begin to develop a drawing habit and discover how to deal with your inner critic so you can keep going. It’s an appointment with your sketchbook and a place for you to begin or re-start your drawing journey.

It is suitable for complete beginners, secret zoom doodlers, reluctant diagram makers and competent colouring in-ers. It is also good for people who once loved art but have lost it along the way and would really like to reconnect with their creative selves. If you’re curious to know if you can learn to draw, this course will help you discover what you’re capable of.

See like an artist

Really looking at things is fundamental to the process of drawing them and on this course you’ll experience what it means to ‘see like an artist’. I break down the drawing process so that you can build your skills week by week, until your toolbox is full. Because it’s a live class, you’ll be able to ask questions and get feedback as you work, as well as having fun with your fellow students.

Every class will move you a step closer to drawing confidently.
