What is Prophetic Guidance? 
The Prophetic Guidance program aims to provide students with in-depth knowledge of The Islamic Sciences. Throughout the program, students will study Islam from within its own tradition and cover Classical Texts that have been used for hundreds of years to provide deep and authentic knowledge. The program also places a strong emphasis on applying sacred knowledge in the context we live in through real life examples, discussion and visiting scholar seminars. This course is suited for those who have a desire to learn and live a life based on Prophetic Guidance.

What Will I Learn?

Learning Objectives:

• Introducing the sophistication and depth of Islamic Studies
• Learning and applying Sacred Knowledge found in the Sciences of Quran, Hadith, Theology, Law, and The Prophetic Biography
• Imparting students with a desire to constantly better themselves and to serve the Muslim community
• Provide mentorship and good company

Year 1 students will take the following classes: 

Semester 1: 

• Iman: The Foundations of Islamic Belief & Theology
• Ihsan: Purification of The Heart: A Study of Imam al-Ghazali's Beginning of Guidance 

Semester 2: 

• Seerah: The Prophetic Character & Biography
• Islam: The Rules & Wisdom of Worship: Purification & Prayer

Year 2 students will take the following classes:

Semester 1:

• Quran: Tafsir of Most Recited Surahs
• Ihsan: Living Faith: A Study of Imam Haddad''s Book of Assistance (part 1)

Semester 2:

• Fiqh: Fiqh of Marriage, Business, Food, & Dress
• Ihsan: Living Faith: A Study of Imam Haddad''s Book of Assistance (part 2)

Registration Details 

The program fee is $200 per semester (covers books, materials, refreshments, etc.). Spots are confirmed in the class upon receipt of payment. 

For students who require financial aid, please register with the Financial Aid ticket. The Tanwir Programs team will reach out with next steps.

Logistical Details

Classes meet every Sunday from 10AM to 1PM starting  January 7th 2023.

Classes are held at ICNVT Masjid (4420 Shirley Gate Rd, Fairfax, VA 22030)

• First Day of Class: Sunday, January 7, 2024
• Last Day of Class: Sunday, June 2, 2024
• No classes on:
  • March 10th – April 7th – Ramadan Break
  • May 26th – Memorial Day Break
