What is Prophetic Guidance? 
The Prophetic Guidance program aims to provide students with in-depth knowledge of The Islamic Sciences. Throughout the program, students will study Islam from within its own tradition and cover Classical Texts that have been used for hundreds of years to provide deep and authentic knowledge. The program also places a strong emphasis on applying sacred knowledge in the context we live in through real life examples, discussion and visiting scholar seminars. This course is suited for those who have a desire to learn and live a life based on Prophetic Guidance.

Foundations

Who is this program for:
Every Muslim, Male or Female, Age 17 and above.

Why join this program?

To fulfill the individual obligation (fardh al-ayn) upon every Muslim to seek Obligatory Knowledge.

What Will I Learn?

Learning Objectives:

• You will learn that portion of Sacred Knowledge which fulfills the individual obligation (fardh al-ayn) upon you
• You will learn to apply Sacred Knowledge in your daily life
• You will increase in your desire to constantly better yourself and to serve the Muslim community
• You will gain certainty in the word of Allah Most High and the Religion of Islam

Semester One - 10 classes: 

• Principles: The Foundations of Studying Islam
• Ihsan: Purification of The Heart: A Study of Imam al-Ghazali's Beginning of Guidance 

Semester Two - 10 classes:

• Iman: The Foundations of Islamic Belief & Theology 
• Seerah: The Prophetic Character & Biography

Semester Three - 10 classes:

• Islam: The Rules & Wisdom of Worship: Purification & Prayer
• Shamail: The Prophetic Character & Conduct
  

Extended Studies

Who is this program for:
Anyone who has studied the "Foundations" curriculum or it's equivalent .

What Will I Learn?

Learning Objectives:

• You will build upon your foundational level of Sacred Knowledge
• You will learn to apply broader aspects of the Sacred Law in your daily life
• You will increase in your desire to constantly better yourself and to serve the Muslim community
• You will gain a deep knowledge of the Quran & Prophetic Sunna

Semester One - 10 classes:

• Tafsir: Surah Yasin
• Principles: The Foundations of Studying Islam 

Semester Two - 10 classes:

• The Lives of Man: The Beginning of Time until the End of Times
• Hadith Studies: Nur al-Iman: Select Hadith from Bukhari & Muslim
  

Semester Three - 10 classes:

• Shamail: The Prophetic Character & Conduct
• The Daily Routine of the Prophet (saw): Wisdom, Supplications and Practice. 

Registration Details 

The program fee is $150 per semester (covers books, materials, refreshments, etc.). Spots are confirmed in the class upon receipt of payment.

Logistical Details

Classes for the third semester meet every Sunday from 10AM to 1PM starting April 13, 2025.

Classes are held at Tanwir Institute at 4401 Fair Lakes Ct Suite 301, Fairfax, VA 22033

Calendar:

Semester 3: April 13th - June 22nd
