Walk the Haunted Capital of Cornwall

Join Launceston's "ghost guy" Lawrence Patrick McNeela for chills, thrills, and tales from the shadows of Cornwall's ancient capital.

Tour guide Lawrence awaits to lead you through Launceston's mediaeval streets, dark alleyways, and historic sites, sharing spine-tingling stories of restless spirits and the town's haunted past. During this darker, spookier tour, you will visit the haunted ruins of a Norman castle, the graveyard after dark of a 16th century church, stop by a haunted Elizabethan mansion, and enter the mediaeval thoroughfares of an ancient town with the darkest of histories.

You will also, conservation work permitting, have the unique opportunity of entering within the Tudor debtors' gaol at 14th century Southgate Arch, which is usually closed to the public. There, we will try our hand at dowsing for spirits!

Starting at Putting on the Ritz, where guests can fuel up with coffee, and finishing beside the fire at The Bell Inn, Launceston's oldest and most haunted tavern! There, landlord Ram will provide free food, and the opportunity to buy a real ale, local cider or soft drink, and we will share more ghost stories. This is often the highlight of our ghost walks through Launceston, when guests have the chance to share their own spooky stories, should they wish.
