Description
What are the voices saying that loop through your mind? Where do you hold them in your body? Join us for a day devoted to moving from self-doubt to self-determination. We’re excited to invite you to our upcoming workshop, “Voices in My Body,” for deep internal listening and authentic connections. This workshop will be a celebration of the written word, our essence, and the embodiment of our experiences and scars. Co-facilitated by Leona Gallant, Metis elder, family reconstruction therapist and author; Julie Gerhardt, cranial-sacral therapist with a specialty in moms and newborns; and Dr. Carolyn Nesbitt, Duncan resident and international trauma therapy specialist.
Join us in letting go of the voices that no longer serve us, and celebrating who we are in this moment on this planet.
A lovely lunch will be served that will meet the needs of those who eat cleanly: vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free and organic. And did I mention delicious?
We will finish the day with a very cool and insightful performance by MurmurArts Collective that reflects the Voices in our Bodies. In between the workshop and this unique theatre dance performance, there will be 45 minutes for journaling, reflection and socializing. We will tie it all together with a final group discussion.
We look forward to sharing this journey with you and highlighting the importance of collaboration in our world.

In the Workshop, participants will explore the concept of psychological parts, drawing on the work of Virginia Satir. Participants engage with Satir's methods, which focus on the different "parts" of the self — each representing various emotions, needs, and behaviors — and how these parts interact within us.
Following the Workshop, a performance by the Murmur Arts Collective will bring Satir's concepts to life through a blend of visual art, movement, and an immersive experience both in English and French, through “silent disco” headset technology. The piece vividly portrays the internal dialogue of these psychological parts, creating a powerful and memorable experience.
The day’s activities will conclude with a group discussion, where attendees reflect on their insights, deepening their understanding of the concepts and practices, and fostering a sense of community.
You may partake in the full day event, participate only in the workshop or just come to the performance by Murmur Arts Collective. A day pass will be available for the full day, and tickets will also be sold separately for the workshop or the performance. Note that there is a limited amount of tickets both for the workshop and the performance. Registration is required in order to secure your spot.
