Kiss Me Kate

KISS ME KATE is coming to Turvey - November 18th to 21st 2026.

TAT’s Autumn Production.

This traditional Musical is set in America in the 1940’s with glorious music by Cole Porter and follows the story of a group of travelling actors putting on a musical version of Shakespeare’s “The Taming Of The Shrew”. So, we have in effect two stories, with the two leading characters Fred and Lilli, who are divorced, playing out their frustrations as Petruchio and Kate in performance as well as backstage. Throw in a younger couple and a pair of hilarious Gangsters, dancing and glorious songs and you have a spectacular show.

Many of you might remember the 1953 film version starring Howard Keel, Katherine Grayson and Anne Miller, with a very young Bob Fosse dancing his socks off! Also, very recently Adrian Dunbar starred in a revival of the show in 2024 at The Barbican. So, it’s a show that is still very popular.

So come along to our production in November and join in the fun and you also might “Brush Up Your Shakespeare”!!
