Your school is invited to participate in the 8th annual TCC Poetry Slam on Thursday, May 9, 2024.
Schools can register a maximum of two students (or groups) per category. Parents cannot directly register their children unless they have received explicit approval from their school administration.
Rules are listed below. The cost is $15 per student and will include a pizza lunch.
The theme for this year’s event is Liberation.
The Poetry Slam will take place at the Tawheed Community Centre, 5585 McAdam Road, Mississauga.
What do finalists win?
1. Category finalists win a trophy for their category. All participants will receive a participation certificate.
2. In addition to their trophies, category finalists will be invited (along with one parent/guardian) to perform at the TCC IGNITE THE MIC Poetry Event (details TBD). They will be part of an amazing evening featuring local talents!

3. The best performers will be invited to perform at MuslimFest in the summer 2024.
