Women's Golf Clinic

Want to learn to play golf but find it overwhelming and don't know where to start? Want to learn with other Muslim women who are beginners and new players in a safe environment?

Tawheed Community Centre is pleased to organize women's golf lessons for our community members with a professional female golf instructor. 

The On Course Lesson will be geared towards those with golfing experience and include observations and coaching as they play the course.

The location will be at the Oakville Executive Golf Course (4414 Fourth Line, Oakville, ON L6M 4E8).

Open to females ages 15+ or 13 yo if accompanied by an adult. Participants are encouraged to bring their own clubs or let us know in the participant form.

Instructor Amaya Athill:
Amaya Athill is an attorney-at-law and was called to the Bar of England and Wales, Antigua, and, most recently, Ontario. Amaya spent the first 10 years of her career practicing in Antigua and the United Kingdom where she specialized in civil litigation, international law, and human rights law.

A golfer since the age of 5, after moving to Canada in early 2023, Amaya began working in the golf industry. Currently, she is the Manager at Golf Canada where she manages the implementation of First Tee in Ontario, a program that provides opportunities to access golf for young people from historically excluded and systemically marginalized communities.

Amaya qualified as a golf professional in May 2023 and is one of the few black women members of the PGA of Canada. Amaya has a passion for introducing BIPOC women to golf and her part-time coaching is primarily focused on Instruction of Beginner Golfers within this demographic.

Finally, Amaya is a contributor to SCOREGolf Magazine where she tells the stories of unsung heroes, unseen advocates, and underrepresented players whose work and participation in the sport is an interruption to the status quo and who are changing the shape and face of golf in Canada.
