Tea & Listening Session with Zen Jefferson | 22 August • 18:00–20:30 ✨

On August 22, we’re inviting you to a special evening dedicated to deep listening, Chinese tea and discovering beautiful music together. 🍵🎧

This session will be guided by Zen Jefferson — a Berlin-based performer, DJ and sound collage artist originally from Seattle. Their practice moves between contemporary dance, sound design and DJing, creating immersive listening experiences that invite presence, curiosity and connection.

Zen collaborates with Teaċ Daṁsa and choreographer Jeremy Nedd, hosts the radio show A Forest of Friends on éist radio, and is currently completing a Master’s in Experimental Sound Practice at University College Cork.

For this evening, Zen has selected Litto Nebbia – Bazar de los Milagros (with Alejandro Del Prado / “Defilpo”).

Originally released in the early 1970s, the album is considered a landmark of Argentine rock, folk and experimental music. Spacious, spiritual and unhurried, its long-form compositions create a rich environment for attentive collective listening - inviting us to slow down, dream and experience music together in a different way.

Throughout the listening session, we’ll serve a curated selection of Chinese teas chosen to accompany the album, allowing both the music and the tea to unfold gradually.

After the album, the evening continues with one of Zen’s carefully curated DJ selections, moving through experimental ambient, spiritual jazz, Nigerian highlife, Arabic and Turkish psych-funk, Brazilian tropicália and MPB. The music begins with spacious ambient textures as guests arrive and settle in, before gradually opening into rhythmic grooves, psychedelic sounds and warm, expansive soundscapes that follow the energy of the room.

The evening is designed as a slower and more intentional experience - an opportunity to step away from everyday distractions, discover remarkable music, explore tea culture and share a meaningful moment with others.
