Alternative Proteins & Novel Foods

Fri 20 Nov 2026 9:00 AM - Fri 4 Dec 2026 3:00 PM GMT Online, AP 2026

400+ Attendees | 200+ Organisations | 30+ Speakers | 2 Conference Stages

The sector is advancing on multiple fronts at once. Plant-based, cultivated, fermentation-derived and microbial proteins are moving further into commercial territory, while new labs and funding initiatives work to close the gap between promising science and scalable production. Producers are racing to bring down bioreactor costs and refine taste and texture, even as regulatory pathways vary widely from one market to the next and consumer trust remains hard won. Cultivated meat and precision fermentation are moving from pilot lines into early commercial runs, but the distance between what is possible in the lab and what is viable at retail price and scale remains significant.

Alternative Proteins & Novel Foods (AFNP) 2026 is where these realities are explored through two days of live sessions, direct conversation, and shared expertise.

Now in its second annual online conference, we welcome more than 400 attendees from over 200 organisations, including food producers, ingredient developers, biotechnology companies, regulators and policymakers, foodservice and retail providers, and research institutions.

Across two stages, more than 30 speakers address the challenges and opportunities ahead. APNF 2026 is where the conversations shaping future projects take place.

Complimentary Attendees
Full access attendance is currently complimentary for qualifying personnel from Food Producers and Manufacturers, Foodservice Operators, Retailers, and Government and Regulatory Bodies.

Full Access Attendees

Full access passes include live entry across both days, alongside one-to-one networking with speakers and delegates before, during, and after the event. You will also receive on-demand access to all sessions, so you can revisit any presentation and continue dialogue after the live days have ended.

Conference Day One: Friday 27th November
Day One is live with speakers, presentations, and networking. Join your fellow attendees and engage with the sessions as they happen.

Conference Day Two: Friday 4th December

Live sessions, open Q&A, and networking continue, with a second full day of speakers and discussion.

Stage 1Production and Manufacturing
Innovations in production methods and processes are enhancing taste, efficiency, and affordability through biotechnology and advanced manufacturing. As technology continues to evolve, improvements in scaling and increased investment in infrastructure will accelerate global adoption, reduce environmental impact, and expand consumer access—supporting a more sustainable food system.

Stage 2: Ingredients and Formulation
Breakthroughs in ingredients and formulation are improving taste, nutrition, and sustainability. Advances in plant proteins, fermentation, and AI-driven techniques are elevating product quality while lowering environmental impact. At the same time, these developments are increasing efficiency and broadening consumer appeal, helping drive the future of sustainable food.
