Workshop 10 - Nanite, Lumen and PCG. Fun With Rapid Development in Unreal Engine 5.
Wed 13 Nov 2024 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM
Teesside University Campus - Athena Building - Room A2.08, TS1 3BX
Description
With the new tools that Unreal Engine 5 has to offer, we can really let our creative side loose in a way that we have not been able to before.
Nanite means an end to constant optimizing of model polycounts, Lumen means we get GI cheaply and when we want it and PCG means we can detail our world quickly!
This workshop will introduce you to the three systems with some easy to follow hands on sessions - we will create a mega-assembly using Nanite meshes, then use instances in order to populate our level quickly.
We will set up Lumen and a few self-illuminated meshes to bring life to our scene and we will fast populate it with some handy PCG scripts!
As long as you can understand the basics of using Unreal Engine 5 then welcome in!
And if you are not sure, pop on by anyway as it will be a great session and I am always happy to lend a hand!
Booking is required as places are limited. This workshop is not part of the Animex Festival ticket.
Student concessions available but please bring photo ID as proof on entry.
