International Symposium on Smart Energy, Materials, Manufacturing and Digital Technologies (ISSMART 2025)

This is a Hybrid event  - In person at Teesside University, and online via Teams. 

The Organising Committee of ISSMART 2025 invites researchers, academics, and industry experts to submit abstracts for oral and poster presentations. The symposium will convene leading voices from academia, industry, and policy to explore the convergence of smart energy systems, advanced materials, manufacturing innovation, and digital technologies (AI, data analytics, Industry 4.0). This one-day hybrid event is part of the British Council Going Global India grant, organised in collaboration with VIT (India) and Wipro 3D (India). The programme features keynotes, plenary sessions, technical tracks, industry spotlights, and a panel discussion on global pathways to net zero.

We are happy to inform you that the event will also be organised in collaboration with Teesside University Energy Society (TUES).

Themes of Interest

Submissions are welcome in (but not limited to) the following areas:

• Smart Energy Systems & Storage: renewable integration, next-generation batteries, hydrogen, grid optimisation.
• Advanced & Sustainable Materials: functional materials, composites, solid-state systems, materials for energy and manufacturing.
• Digitalisation & AI: digital twins, predictive analytics, robotics, industrial IoT, machine learning applications.
• Smart Manufacturing & Industry 4.0: additive manufacturing, process optimisation, automation, circular and sustainable manufacturing.
• Cross-cutting Innovations: strategies for net-zero transitions, resilience, global collaborations.

We particularly welcome contributions at the intersection of battery technologies, materials, digitalisation, and manufacturing.

Submission Guidelines

• Abstracts: up to 300 words, clearly stating objectives, methods, results, and significance.
• Format: indicate oral or poster preference; only selected abstracts will be allocated oral slots.
• Mode: hybrid options are available for both oral and poster presentations.
• Posters: presented in a dedicated session with networking opportunities.
• Publications: selected high-quality papers will be considered for publication in reputed international journals.

Key Dates

• Abstract deadline: 15 October 2025 (Extended to 24 October 2025)
• Notification of acceptance: 30 October 2025 (Moved to 3 November 2025)
• Symposium: 1 December 2025

Participation

• Hybrid: in-person at Teesside University, UK, with virtual access for international delegates.
• Audience: academics, researchers, students, and industry professionals.
• Fees: No registration fees for attendance or presentation (funded by the British Council Going Global India Programme).
• Student support: Selected UK-based students may receive travel assistance.
