Teith Lines brings together three brilliant local poets, Moira McPartlin, Chris Powici and Carol McKay.
You will be able to enjoy their work and then the mic opens to all who want to share a poem with the audience. It could be something you've created yourself or work by another poet.
Carol McKay
Carol McKay's poetry collection One Last Tango was published by Seahorse Publications in March 2026. Her first poetry pamphlet Reading the Landscape was published by Hedgehog Press in 2022. Ceilidh from that collection was named by the Scottish Poetry Library as one of the twenty Best Scottish Poems in English in 2022. Her micro-pamphlet, written in collaboration with her partner Keith McKay and entitled None of this Makes any Sense: four poems and four asemic poems, was published by Hedgehog Press in 2024. Carol's poetry, fiction and best-selling creative non-fiction have been published for over 25 years and have won awards including the Robert Louis Stevenson Fellowship. She won the Scottish Association of Writers James Muir Poetry Competition in October 2023 and was Scriever for the Federation of Writers in 2023.
Moira McPartlin
After leaving Shell in 2005 Moira McPartlin became a full-time author. She has four novels published by Fledgling Press. Her last novel, Before Now: Memoir of a Toerag, was written entirely in the Fife dialect and was published by her own imprint, Trilleachan Press. She is a Hawthornden Fellow, past Scriever for the Federation of Writers and recipient of a Bridges Award residency at Cove Park, Argyll. Moira's short prose and poetry have been published widely in anthologies and literary magazines.
Chris Powici
Chris Powici lives in rural Perthshire. He is currently co-editor of New Writing Scotland, and one of the people behind paperboats.org, a loose collection of writers concerned with climate change and other ecological issues. His latest poetry collection is Dint published by Red Squirrel Press.
