Temple Traverse 2026

Join us for a four-day bikepacking adventure linking Temple Cycles London with our new flagship store in Bristol.

Beginning on Brick Lane and finishing together on Whiteladies Road, this route follows a carefully curated mix of gravel tracks, canal towpaths, bridleways and quiet country lanes through some of Southern England's finest riding. Whether you’ve just done your first overnight bikepacking trip or you’ve experienced touring in several continents, we’re keen to have you along for the ride.

Over four days, riders will travel approximately 190 miles, camping beneath the stars, meeting like-minded riders and discovering a slower way to travel.

This is not a race. It's an invitation to ride at a social pace, embrace self-supported adventure and experience life's simple pleasures. 

What to expect: 

• An pre-ride social and briefing, with bike tuning available (optional)
• Approximately 190 miles (307 km) of riding
• A mixture of gravel, bridleways, canal paths and quiet roads
• Stunning views and connection to nature
• Three nights camping with new-found friends
• A very short final day to Bristol, allowing for onward travel
• Self-supported riding encouraged
• But Temple mechanics will be joining the ride and the support van will be only a phone call away
• Afternoon tea and cake and dinner on day 3 included, plus breakfast and lunch on day 4
• Finish-line pizza and a commemorative patch for everyone
• Plenty of opportunities for riverside lunches, wildlife spotting and wild-swim detours

What you need:

• A bike with tyres of at least 35mm width
• A helmet, lock and charged lights
• Camping equipment
• Capacity for carrying at least 1.5 litres of water
• Bike bags for carrying your essentials
• A navigation device and a way of charging it
• Comfortable riding clothes
• Waterproofs and warm clothes for off the bike

Note: to avoid taking Friday off work, you are welcome to catch the train to Reading after work and ride to the first campsite from there.
