A Preview Concert Comes to the Historic Hunterdon County Courthouse

Experience the music and drama of The Crossing, a sweeping new musical being previewed at the Historic Hunterdon County Courthouse September 25 and 26, 2026, just three months before the musical’s world premiere in Trenton on the 250th anniversary of the Battle of Trenton.

Witness the return of Flemington’s own Black patriot Jacob Francis to the courthouse where he successfully won his Revolutionary War pension. Francis is among the everyday patriots whose stories of sacrifice are told by in a remarkable musical that intends to become the official musical of New Jersey. You’ll hear the stirring words of Thomas Paine that inspired ten crucial days in Hunterdon County and saved the revolution and you’ll feel the resolve of General Washington who led the Continental Army to victory.

Note: The courthouse is accessible to wheelchairs via a back entrance and elevator.
