GroundEd 2027 - Regenerative and Transformative CPD for Educators

Fri Jun 25, 2027 9:00 AM - Sat Jun 26, 2027 10:30 PM Fyfestone, Northumberland, NE46 4TE

GroundEd is a two-day residential teacher CPD event which aims to support teachers to become confident regenerative educators whilst improving wellbeing through connection with nature and community.

Building on GroundEd 2026’s focus of nature connection, the theme for June 2027 is “A Sense of Place, Time and Space”.

Through a series of nature-based learning experiences and outdoor sessions in beautiful Northumberland, we will bridge the critical gap between knowing about sustainability and living it. GroundEd ensures teachers working with any age group or from any discipline return to the classroom with the knowledge, understanding, and skills that provide the foundations for genuine classroom transformation.

The event is aimed at educators who are just starting out with an interest in environmental education, through to fully-fledged sustainability leads who are looking to expand their network or strengthen their regenerative practice.

Our partners: The Ministry of Eco Education and OASES who have been delivering high-quality climate, nature, and sustainability CPD to teachers for many years, are partnering with TerraLigo to bring you this unique experience. The event takes place on a 5-acre smallholding in the North Tyne Valley. The Homestead is on the edge of Northumberland National Park and the Northumberland International Dark Sky Park (although at midsummer the stars are not quite as visible).

What to expect: We already have most of our speakers, and workshop hosts booked who are delighted to have this opportunity to share their expertise and wisdom. The line-up, including incredible musical entertainment to fill your evenings, will be released over the coming months.

Practical information: This is a not-for-profit event with a limited number of tickets available. Gates will open for camping or campervans on the evening of Thursday 24th June, and the site will close at noon on the 27th. Food from Friday morning to Sunday morning, alongside a camping or campervan pitch, is included in the ticket price. For those attending who do not have access to a tent, we can provide space in shared tents for ~4 people.

Reflective quotes from delegates taking part in 2026 include:

“This is the global model for gold standard CPD! A wonderful mix of quality speakers and content, sharing and learning, moments to connect and restore, a spirit of openness, growth, support and care, amazing people and a whole lot of love and joy. The BEST environment for learning, growth and creativity.” — Clare

“A renewed sense of purpose, greater self-confidence in my values and philosophy. I found my people. We’re not alone.” — Judie

“This was indubitably the best experience of my life thus far. Everything about it was shrouded in magic and mystery, education and new friendships and a welcome that was all encompassing.  Thank you for this and thank you for energising us all to move forward with confidence and knowledge.” - Sharon

One thing we promise: this will be an immersive, experiential learning experience grounded in nature, not a conference room with endless PowerPoints.

The reduced price early bird tickets are available until October half-term. If you would prefer to pay via invoice please contact us. Depending on availability day tickets may be available nearer the date.
