Early Career Launch Pad for New Therapist

Sat Sep 13, 2025 9:30 AM - 4:30 PM 12940 Harriet Ave South, #215, 55337

On Saturday, September 13th, 2025, join Heather Heide, LMFT-S and Tessa Gittleman, LMFT-S for a day packed with Clinical Readiness Curriculum you wished you had learned before starting your practicum. That's right--we have designed a whole day to ease the growing pains that Practicum Students, Recent Clinical Graduates, Pre-Confident Clinicians, and their Clinical Sites have experienced for generations.

The truth is, graduate programs, supervision, and sites can’t cover everything it takes to feel grounded, confident, and like you have a sustainable workload as a new therapist. We know this firsthand—as Graduate Course Instructors, Private Practice Owners, and Supervisors, we’ve seen where new clinicians thrive and where they burn-out so quickly, it's hard to have confidence in their career path. That’s why we've dedicated an entire day to doing... different; Offering the kind of practical, real-world tools and support we wish we had inherited from a mentor when we were starting out.

Our learning objectives for the day

  • Documentation, Documentation, Documentation
    • Understand how to write a Diagnostic Assessment (DA), Case Note (CN), and Treatment Plan (TxP)

    • Creating your own templates and workflows to ease the admin burden

  • Managing ethical decision-making, especially when two supervisors give two competing "right" answers

  • Understanding how to define, build, and evolve your strategies for professional development/trajectory over time

  • Develop systems that help you sustain productive, organized, and sustainable practice in your first year(s) of therapy work

  • Defining (and communicating) your clinical and professional identities to your desired audiences (other clinicians and clients)

  • Plus.... the Art of Small Talk, your "five minute elevator pitch," making the most out of consult calls, and everyone's favorite: writing a professional bio!
