An Evening with My Garden of a Thousand Bees
An Evening with My Garden of a Thousand Bees
Join us for a special evening celebrating the extraordinary world of bees — right here at Watercress Farm, where they live amongst us every day.
The evening begins with drinks at the bar before a warm welcome and short introduction from Martin Dohrn, the award-winning wildlife filmmaker behind My Garden of a Thousand Bees. Martin will share a little of the story behind the film and what inspired him to turn his lens on the bees in his own Bristol back garden.
We'll then head out together for a guided walk around Watercress Farm as the evening light settles in, a chance to see first hand the habitats and wildflowers that make this place a haven for pollinators. Whether you're already a bee enthusiast or simply bee curious, it's a wonderful opportunity to connect with nature on your doorstep.
Back inside, enjoy drinks and a chance to mingle before settling in to watch My Garden of a Thousand Bees, the acclaimed PBS documentary in which Martin films over 60 species of bees using extraordinary custom built lenses, revealing a hidden world of drama, intelligence, and beauty. The evening closes with a live conversation between Martin Dohrn and ecologist Eric Heath, where you can ask questions, share your thoughts, and learn more about what we can all do to support our local pollinators.
