Fire Light Session at Belmont Estate

Join us for a special evening of live fire cooking at Belmont Estate, hosted by Genevieve Taylor, Bristol-based live fire cook, author and teacher.

The Fire Light Sessions are slow, generous evenings. Fires are lit as guests arrive, smoke curls into the evening air and the table gradually fills with dishes cooked over wood and sustainably made British charcoal. This is not a rushed meal. It's a feast, indulgent, joyful and rooted in the land around us.

Guests will be seated at a long communal table set within Belmont's rewilding project, surrounded by nature as it returns and thrives. It is a setting quite unlike any other, and the perfect place to share a fire-cooked meal as the summer evening closes in. Wherever possible, the fuel itself comes from the landscape around us, charcoal made from nearby trees, returning heat and flavour back to the same land that produced the food.

Genevieve's menu changes with the season and the place: vegetables from nearby fields, meat raised on surrounding pasture, fruit and herbs that make sense in that moment of the year. Everything is served to share, generous platters passed hand to hand down the table as each course comes off the fire. Drinks flow easily, conversation stretches long into dusk, and the pace of the night follows the rhythm of the fire itself.

There will be an amply stocked bar with carefully chosen house wines, local beer, cider and non-alcoholic cordials. For those who wish to add to the experience, an optional wine flight is available, with five wines selected by an experienced sommelier and matched to the menu as it move.
