A Question of Time: On Patience, Process and Letting Nature Lead
How long does it take nature to recover? A question of time is one of the quietest questions in nature recovery, yet climate and business targets have very loud deadlines.
How do we address these conflicting tensions when we're talking about bringing nature back, and how do we manage these three completely different clocks running at the same time?
This is an open roundtable discussion for leaders, sustainability leads and businesses who want to really understand nature recovery, the timescales, and how you can weave this understanding into your business cycle.
Led by Eric Heath, our Head of Natural Capital and Ecology, he will pose the questions - should we bring species back or let them return on their own? When we intervene, are we helping nature recover, or just making ourselves feel useful? And how can we weave this understanding into our carbon and sustainability targets?
What the morning looks like
You'll have coffee and pastries when you arrive with a short opening from Eric to frame the questions. From there, we'll walk through our rewilding site to continue the discussion at our Roundhouse before wandering back.
The Roundhouse Exchange is a series of small, open conversations or workshops held at Watercress Farm. Places are limited to keep the group small and the discussion meaningful and valuable.
