First Testing the Water of 2025 and it's a big'un...
Memotone, otherwise known as "the hardest working man in showbiz" (and sometimes as O.G. Jigg) has been one of our favourite producers for some time now, with standout releases on The Trilogy Tapes, Impatience, Black Acre, and his own label. Having seen him play to an enraptured crowd this summer at the 3WD festival, we're thrilled to be bringing him back up to Glasgow to see him play in such an intimate setting.
We were lucky enough to see The Dengie Hundred playing a couple of years back at Iklektik (RIP) for our friends over at Sagome. After hearing his recent EP with Gemma Blackshaw - aptly described by The Quietus as "a heavily bleached out type of gothic folk" - we knew we needed to get him up for his Glasgow debut.
And last but not least we're super excited to be joined by musician, dj and student urban planner, craggyland. We managed to catch her live set at one of Event's Research Programme's Scratch Nights, and knew her loopy guitar sound would complement these two perfectly :)
La Chunky is an intimate, BYOB venue with a v limited, 50-person capacity. There is step free access to the upstairs part.
