Alan Day Community Garden (ADCG) is home to bountiful veggie gardens, tended to by community members, as well as to a community food forest project. At 1 pm, join Scott Vlaun from the Center for an Ecology-Based Economy in Norway for a tour of ADCG, with a specific focus on the food forest. Learn about the history of this project; the practice of perennial polyculture; the mix of fruit-bearing trees and native plants that thrive there; how human and non-human communities interact with this space; and how this food forest supports a healthy ecology and strong community. 

At 2 pm, following the tour, participants are welcome and encouraged to participate in mapping the expansion of ADCG's food forest and where to plant new varieties. Learn more about building perennial polyculture into your home or community food systems; and have a hand in shaping this vital community project.
