Lifedrawing with Chloe@ Salon Radley

Join us for 2 hours of salon-style, guided, life drawing at Radley House in Thamesmead. 

These are relaxed sessions for adult artists and beginners alike. There may be some artistic prompts which you can choose to challenge yourself with or simply concentrate on the poses in front of you. 

This week we have the Chloe joining us for the first time in Thamesmead. She's been a relative newcomer to the scene but already gaining good working relationships with prestigious drawing groups in London so we're excited to host her at TMLD. 

The salon sessions are a little more relaxed with slightly longer poses earlier on, rather than the extended warm up sessions. While the sessions are usually accompanied by music, be prepared for a little chatter.

You're also welcome to share your drawings at the end of the session, but also you can choose not to. There's no pressure.

We are temporarily running these sessions in my home "salon style" so a little more relaxed, surrounded by home comforts. The full address will be revealed on the ticket once booked

How to get here? 

It's a 12 minute walk from Abbey Wood Station. Exit the station and head left towards the Sainsbury's. Cross over to the BP Petrol Station and turn RIGHT to Overton Road. Walk to the end of Overton Road and turn LEFT at the modern Church Of The Cross. Continue up into the pedestrianised section along the green bank towards the block of flats. Radley House is the first of the large blocks. On street level press the buzzer and I'll let you up. 

BUSES

from Abbey Wood take 180 to Limestone Walk. Cross over to the small parade of shops and walk back on yourself. Turn LEFT onto Wolvercote Rd and RIGHT. Radley House is the first block of flats. Press my number and I'll buzz you up.

from Abbey Wood take B11 to HARTSLOCK DRIVE. Behind the bus stop is a passage under the concrete ramp. Radley House is the first block of flats on the right. Go to the front street entrance. Press my number and I'll buzz you up.

CAR

There is free parking in the residential areas. Put SE2 9TW into your map

Nonetheless, doors open at 6.30 for a 7pm start. I will be inside setting up/drinking tea. Please book to get my mobile phone number (and to know how many people are coming). Models are booked for 2 hours so please make sure you get here early to start promptly. Drawing starts on the dot at 7 and finishes at 9pm with a 15 minute tea/coffee/biscuit break after the first hour. We’ve got a few minutes of sharing of artworks - it’s always interesting to see other people’s version of the same model and take photos of the artwork created. The sharings are never compulsory, but often, I’ve found that the few that didn’t want to share initially, found something of their work to show, even just me, and that is a privilege. 

Materials:

Please bring our preferred drawing materials and sketchbooks. There is good quality drawing paper for sale if you run out, and a limited amount of drawing boards to borrow for the session. 

The timings are roughly as follows:

2 minute continuous movement

10 second poses (for 2 minutes) 

3 x 2 minutes

3 x 5 minutes

7 minutes

10 minutes

15 minute break

5 minute warm up

Whatever we've got left of the hour until 9pm
