Thames Valley Air Ambulance: Foundations in Pre Hospital Critical Care Course

Our flagship 4 day course is scheduled to take place between the 7th and 10th of September. Offering those who attend significant development opportunity. Underpinning their knowledge of practical skills and behaviours to operate safely and effectively in pre-hospital emergency medicine, encompassing the domains of the Intercollegiate Board for Training in Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine. 

Learning takes place through a mix of lectures and high-fidelity simulation. Candidates are immersed in real-world scenarios, delivered by an expert faculty in pre-hospital emergency medicine. The majority of the course is held within our Pre Hospital Education Centre, but also involves a full day of imersive learning via scenarios 'off site' at Towersey Manor in Thame.

The course is particularly suited to those working towards specialist and/or advanced practice roles. This may also be of interest to those in the early stages of their specialist/advanced practice career, typically those working towards subspeciality training in PHEM.

The course is not suitable for those at NQP1 and NQP2 level, and is designed for healthcare professionals operating at, or progressing towards, levels 6 to 8 of the Skills for Health Career Framework.

The cost of this course is £1,500. Prior to the course commencing you will be provided with pre-reading in the form of clinical guidelines and targeted reference material. 

At the end of the course there will be a meal provided for all who have taken part.
