1st Annual 2024 Hanne Pedersen Playwright Competition Presented by the Alcazar Theatre & Ensemble
Multiple dates and times
The Alcazar Theatre, 93013
Description
This competition was created in memory of the late Hanne Pedersen, who bravely fought cancer. Hanne was an original member of the Carpinteria Community Theatre and one of the founders of the non-profit Carpinteria Community Theatre, Inc., which now operates the Alcazar Theatre. She served as board president for several years, performed on our stage multiple times, and dedicated countless hours to building sets, writing, directing, teaching, and contributing to the theatre. Hanne was a respected community member and a friend to all Carpinterians. To honor her memory and contributions, an annual one-act playwriting contest featuring playwrights from Santa Barbara, Ventura, and Los Angeles Counties has been organized.
