THE NEW ADVENTURES OF PIPPI LONGSTOCKING

The American Scandinavian Foundation of Santa Barbara warmly invites you to the Alcazar Theatre to celebrate Scandinavian culture, featuring a special screening of the cherished film The New Adventures of Pippi Longstocking. A portion of the proceeds will support ASFSB Scholarships for the Santa Barbara County community. The foundation is thrilled to partner with the Carpinteria Community Library to offer more children's books about Pippi's adventures for reading and sharing, which will be available for checkout anytime.

About the Movie:

After a sudden storm sweeps her father's ship away, the spirited Pippi Longstocking finds herself stranded with her horse, Alfonso, and her monkey, Mr. Nilsson. They live in their old family home, which neighborhood kids believe to be haunted. Soon, two children, Tommy and Annika, explore the house and meet Pippi. The three quickly become friends and embark on various adventures, including cleaning the floor with scrubbing shoes, evading the "spunks," floating down a river in barrels, and helping Pippi visit a children's home.

In 2025, Pippi Longstocking will celebrate her 80th birthday! We invite you to join the festivities and "BE MORE PIPPI!" Embrace freedom, strength, kindness, courage, and justice.
