Jay Blakesberg is a San Francisco-based photographer and filmmaker who has documented pop culture since 1978. He's known for his work in music photography, particularly his extensive coverage of the Grateful Dead and their fans. Blakesberg's work has been published in magazines worldwide and featured in 16 coffee table books, including An American Beauty: Grateful Dead 1965–1995. He also owns Retro Photo Archive with his daughter.
