One Battle After Another

When their enemy resurfaces after sixteen years, a group of former revolutionaries reunite to rescue the daughter of one of their own.

One Battle After Another is a 2025 American action-comedy-thriller written, directed, and produced by Paul Thomas Anderson. Inspired by Thomas Pynchon's 1990 novel Vineland, the film features an ensemble cast led by Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn, Benicio del Toro, Regina Hall, Teyana Taylor, and Chase Infiniti in her film debut. The story centers on a washed-up former revolutionary who is drawn back into conflict when his old enemy reappears after sixteen years.

At the 98th Academy Awards, the film won six of its thirteen nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Supporting Actor (Penn), and the first-ever Best Casting award.
