Draw, Proof, Print: 2-day lino cut course with Eric Gaskell and Steve Davies

Across two days, under the guidance of experienced printmakers Eric Gaskell and Steve Davies you will learn practice the lino printing processes from drawing the initial design to making proofs and revisions, until you have a finished print. You will work with equipment in Steve Davies' studio (located in the Alex) and learn about the tools, techniques and practices that Eric and Steve employ in their own printmaking. 

The course is now in its eighth presentation. While it is suitable for newcomers the class size allows for customization to different skill levels and aspirations. This makes it very suitable for those who already know how to create lino cut art, or learned this skill in the past. One past student has attended three of these courses, using different approaches and techniques each time to suit her needs. 

This is a great opportunity to properly understand the process, and benefit from individual tuition by experts as part of a very small class. We have often welcomed out of town visitors to this class and are happy to recommend places to stay in Rugby should you need to.

The course will be taught in the Art at the Alex art centre, using the Garden Room and Print Room areas. The timings are 12-5pm (Friday) and 10am-5pm (Saturday). The Alex is open Thursday-Saturday 11am-4pm and there will be an fresh exhibition by five local artists during November.
