We’re delighted to welcome Ali Burns to the Angel Hall for a rich and inspiring two-day singing workshop.

Ali Burns is a prolific songwriter and much-loved choir leader from Scotland, known for her beautifully crafted songs, deep musicality and inclusive, heart-centred teaching style. Her songs are sung by choirs across the UK and beyond, and range from soulful and lyrical to rhythmically playful and harmonically rich.

Ali will be joined by Jennie Fisk, who frequently accompanies her workshops and supports the teaching process. Many of Ali’s songs have wonderfully intricate structures, and Jennie’s skilled accompaniment helps singers really settle into the music, explore harmonies with confidence, and enjoy the learning process fully.

This weekend workshop is open to anyone who loves to sing. Songs will be taught by ear in a relaxed, supportive atmosphere, with plenty of time to deepen into the music over the two days. Expect gorgeous songs, thoughtful guidance, and the pleasure of singing together as a group.

Venue: The Angel Hall, Bowden House, Totnes TQ9 7PW
Dates: Saturday 27th June and Sunday 28th June 2026

Times:
Arrive from 10:00 am (tea, coffee and a chance to settle in)
Singing begins at 10:30 am
Lunch break 1:00 – 2:00 pm (please bring your own packed lunch)
There will be a couple of 20-minute tea breaks during the day
Finish at 4:30 pm on Saturday and 4:00 pm on Sunday

Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided throughout the weekend. Please bring your own packed lunch and drinking bottle (the is spring water at Bowden to fill up your bottle)

Cancellation Policy:
Up to 2 months before - full refund (minus booking fees)
Up to 1 month before - 50% refund (minus booking fees)
Under 1 month before - no refund (unless we have a waiting list and can sell your place to someone else or you can sell it on)
You are welcome to gift or sell your place to someone else if you can’t make it, just let us know the name of the person!
