🎨 The Print Studio: Create Your Own Art Prints

Come and discover the brilliant world of printmaking at The Art Room this October half term!

In this 90-minute creative workshop, our young artists will learn how artists create prints from their own original designs — from the first sketch through to inking and pulling the finished print.

We'll explore relief printing, using printing foam and lino depending on age and ability. Children will create their own design, learn how to transfer and develop it into a printing plate, roll out printing ink and experience the very satisfying moment of revealing their print!

Rather than creating just one finished piece, we'll experiment with different colours and papers to create a small collection of original prints to take home.

We'll finish by choosing favourites and signing and numbering them just like a real artist's limited-edition print.

There'll be plenty of inspiration available, but children will be encouraged to develop their own ideas and designs — no identical artwork required!
