Matinee Performance of Venus and Adonis
The Cambridge Arts Theatre has kindly offered our members free tickets to a matinee performance.
When: Tuesday 9 June
Time: 2:30 pm.
The running time is about one hour, with no interval.
The performance is Venus and Adonis, Shakespeare’s famous narrative poem. It is narrated live by Simon Russell Beale and brought to life with beautiful puppetry and live music. The show mixes comedy, tragedy and Shakespeare’s wonderful language to tell the story of Venus and her love for the handsome Adonis.
The production uses marionettes, rod puppets and table‑top puppets, inspired by traditional Japanese Bunraku.
