Event Information:

This event is open to TAS Cambridge members, their families, and friends

Cambridge favourites, the Galliard Trio will play a concert of pieces by Handel, Shostakovich and Ravel, concluding with the eternal favourite The Carnival of the Animals by Camille Saint-Saëns.

Doors open at 12:45pm, performance starts at 1:15pm, and the recital will last approx. 45 minutes.

After the performance and when the general public have left, we will enjoy celebratory drinks with The Galliard Trio, and a guided tour of the Painted Church’s glorious interiors led by Adrian Powter, TAS Cambridge member and Church Conservation Trust volunteer guide.

We will only be using about a third of the seating capacity in All Saints’. We would encourage you to wear a mask/face shield when inside the church.

Please note: There are no toilet facilities at this venue.

More Information about All Saints' Church October Fest:

October Fest is a joint venture between The Arts Society Cambridge (TAS Cambridge) and The Churches Conservation Trust (CCT), in whose care All Saints’ Church is vested. Our aim is to welcome more visitors to this unique hidden gem, saved from demolition in the early 1980s.

Organised by Penny Robson, who co-ordinated the Fitzwilliam Museum Sunday concerts for many years, we see this inaugural series of recitals as the launch of our project. We are also planning a range of events to include exhibitions, activities for children and guided tours. With the help of garden historian Caroline Holmes we would like to develop the space around the church to make an accessible garden for all, including those with disabilities. An early goal is to raise funds to improve the lighting in the church, so that the unique ornamentation and decorative artwork may be more fully appreciated. Our hope is to one day be flush enough to install a toilet for patrons on site.

TAS Cambridge are also involved in several other prestigious projects in Cambridge, most recently at Magdalene College and the David Parr House. Visit our website at www.tascambridge.org.uk to discover more about the benefits of joining and current volunteering opportunities.
