Open Meeting on Touring
Multiple dates and times
Online, Zoom
Description
Two options to attend an Open Meeting on Touring:
Monday 2 December, 2pm - 4pm or
Tuesday 10 December, 10am - 12pm.
We’re running two open meetings to get a snapshot of your current experience of performing arts touring and how it has changed over recent years. This is to inform a research project into the state of touring by The Audience Agency and partners, on behalf of Arts Council England. For more about the project, see here.
Since the touring sector for theatre, dance, music and combined arts is complex and diverse, we want to engage with as wide a range of people as possible, whether from venues, companies, producing organisations, sector bodies or other perspectives.
The meetings will cover topics such as audience trends, financial risk, partnership and co-production, touring patterns, and the touring ecology as a whole. This will be an opportunity to tell us if there are any other essential topics that you think we should cover and what you think our priorities should be for more in-depth focus group discussions, over the coming weeks. Brief online polls will take place throughout the meeting to help capture opinions about some of the key issues facing the sector.
Both sessions have the same content and format, as follows:
Welcome & Introduction - from The Audience Agency and Arts Council England.
Topic Sessions - short discussions for people to contribute their experience in specific areas with each session, introduced by someone from the sector. The content of these sessions will inform the topics for upcoming focus group discussions. We will be covering topics such as audience trends, financial risk and partnership, length of tours, international and the current touring ecology.
Breakout Sessions - in small groups, please raise any other essential topics that you think we should include and tell us what you think the focus groups should discuss.
Brief Feedback - each group to feedback priorities from their session.
