Join us on Saturday, July 22nd, for a beautiful outdoor album-release concert by local band Awakeneers.
This event will take place in the garden at Sybil Andrews Cottage from 7:00pm – 9:00pm. In addition to live music, the evening will include CD give-away draw, stories behind the songs, CD signing, mingling, and free snacks!
Awakeneers’ self-titled debut album is a mix of gentle folk songs, thoughtful lyrics, and multipart harmonies — with a few surprises thrown in.
The track list includes standard favourites which attendees of the Acoustic Matinee series will recognize, as well as less-performed but often requested songs such as Clean Freak, and Think!. Think! has been the theme song for Cortes Radio's weekly show Folk University Radio since the show launched in 2020, and Clean Freak was aired on heavy rotation on Tofino's Tuff City Radio during the pandemic, but this will be the first time either of these tracks has made it onto a physical album.
Tickets are free, but grab one while they last! And bring a lawn-chair or blanket to make the evening cozy, warm, and comfortable.
The band gratefully acknowledges the financial support of Campbell River Arts Council / Patrons of the Arts towards making this project possible.
