Increasing Volunteer Effectiveness through Training & Development explores ideas for the planning of effective training and learning opportunities for volunteers.

Aim: To explore ideas for the planning of effective training for volunteers and to increase knowledge and skills in planning and implementing an on-going training programme for volunteers.

The course will provide participants with:

• Knowledge of how adults learn
• An understanding of methods used to identify training needs of volunteers
• The skills to design an effective volunteer training programme including induction and on-going training
• The opportunity to examine different training methods and techniques
• Knowledge of how to evaluate the effectiveness of training.
