Many composers have had grand visions whilst in the throes of inspiration - but those who realise them are truly rare. In the summer of 1906, Mahler experienced an intense burst of creativity whilst writing his 8th Symphony. In his own words, he “saw the whole piece immediately… and only needed to write it down, as though it were being dictated”. Whoever was leading Mahler was inspired - the result is still celebrated today as one of the most expansive and ambitious works in the repertoire.

In a fitting opening to their 150th anniversary season, The Bach Choir perform Mahler’s ‘Symphony of a Thousand’ in the inspiring surroundings of St Paul’s Cathedral. They’ll be joined by a world-class cast consisting of David Hill, the Philharmonia Orchestra, London Youth Choirs and eight spectacular soloists.

Online sales will continue on this page until 4pm on the day of the concert. After that point, tickets will be available on the door of the event unless the event sells out. If this happens, we will announce it on our social media pages (Instagram/Facebook/Twitter) ASAP to avoid disappointment.

Group discounts

Bookings of between 6-9 people are eligible for a 15% discount, and bookings of 10+ people are eligible for a 25% discount. Please email groupbookings@thebachchoir.org.uk stating how many tickets you're buying to receive instructions on how you can get these discounts.

Seating has been divided into the below areas. The seats within each block will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. Please arrive with your party to ensure that we can seat you together. 

If you have access requirements and/or use a wheelchair and need a companion seat, please email joe.garvey@thebachchoir.org.uk and we'll organise a suitable seat for you as soon as possible.
