FAR, FAR BEYOND THE ADOPTION ORDER
LESSONS FROM LIVES IMPACTED BY TRAUMA:
A Unique Conference for Professionals
Discover the transformative power of understanding and compassion at our upcoming conference: Far, far beyond the adoption order: lessons from lives impacted by trauma.
We are thrilled to invite you to an event that promises to inform and start conversations on how we approach the unique challenges faced by children impacted by their early adversity and subsequent complex developmental trauma. Parents of traumatised adopted teens organisation, known by many services as The Potato Group, is a parent-led support organisation. Supported by Adoption England, and in collaboration with The Belay Foundation we have curated a conference aimed at professionals in Social Care, Health, Housing (in all its forms), the Criminal Justice System, Family Law, and Post Adoption Support Services.
For a decade, The Potato Group has been a beacon of support for adoptive families, navigating the intricate terrain of parenting traumatised teenagers and young adults. We have supported over 1000 families across the UK, and are driven by a shared mission to help every member to find ways to bridge gaps in support, understanding and services.
WHY ATTEND?
A Unique Perspective:
Gain insights from parents who have navigated the challenges of parenting traumatised teenagers. Our research, conducted in collaboration with dedicated researchers, offers a deeper understanding of the factors influencing family outcomes.
Unlike any other conference, this event is steered by parents who have experienced first-hand the challenges of parenting traumatised teenagers and young adults. Together with dedicated researchers, we are conducting quantitative and qualitative research that will deepen your understanding of the underlying factors affecting family outcomes.

Interactive and Reflective:
We believe in the power of personal/ relational connection. An in-person conference allows for a deeper connection to the lived experiences that will be willingly shared by our members.
Towards Change:
This conference is a catalyst for conversation. We aim to explore what constitutes effective early intervention and how you can implement, trauma informed, responsive and reducing policies within statutory services.
Together, we can make a tangible difference in the lives of our children and families. Our hope is that together, we can positively impact our society.
Don't miss this opportunity to be part of a movement towards a more compassionate and informed future. Join us in Central Birmingham on the 17th and 18th of May 2024.
