Freedom!

Join local performance artists as they explore the theme of Freedom through their stories, songs and poems.

Freedom can mean many different things, from personal Freedom, Freedom from our mind, Freedom from oppression...Liberty! As a society we have experienced many restrictions on our Freedom in the last few years and there are many attempts currently to curb Freedom of speech.

The OM Studio itself is dedicated to support people to be free of the constant chatter of the mind and to find Freedom in their bodies. Freedom is imbued within its very walls.

Poets, singer songwriters and storytellers across time have put themselves and sometimes their lives on the line for their right to express what they believe is the Truth. This is a powerful topic and we have some powerful voices performing for this event.

There'll be a refreshment and toilet break mid way, a chance to connect and chat with like-minded folk and the opportunity at the end via a fun Q&A to ask the performance artists questions or share any revelations that may arise for you throughout the evening.

THE LINE UP...

Headlining Singer Songwriter: Lyndz Liquid Light

"Singing is how I pray. It's how I celebrate this earth walk, how I celebrate my love to our planet and all who inhabit her and even beyond out into the galaxies! Exploring the voice has become a great passion and witnessing the healing this brings is beyond words, to witness the vulnerability, the tenderness, the power, the wild versatility, the nakedness, the unpredictability! The path of reconnection, coming back to our simple truths... This is what working with these vocal chakras does... For me, listening to someone's voice, is listening to their soul."

Lyndz feels honoured to have studied at Nada Yoga school in India, several years ago, where a whole world of sound opened up to her and got her passionate to walk this path as a song carrier, falling in love with the world of medicine music as she goes! She has weaved many different paths of vocal and sound exploration from bhakti to womb healing, shamanism to cymatics, including studying in a mystery school, Sounds of Light. The depth of healing that Lyndz brings through singing and working with others through the voice will blow you away.

These days you'll mostly find Lyndz walking the coastline of southern Cornwall, deeply inspired by the way the ocean moves and bringing this into the way she shares her voice work and singing. It's a wild form of singing because it brings people into their Bodies, their Truth, their Hearts and connect in from that place . Such a balm in these tender times.

Come listen and sing with Lyndz at The OM Studio, bathe in her Sacred sounds at this sanctuary that is dear to her heart.

Debut Poet: Marie Cocker aka "Faith"

"Whispers of the soul. As we listen we let the soul speak through a channel of Silence, we are always guided through this awareness, the stillness, the nothingness. I wish to express the poetry that comes and share it through the depth and quietness, through the sound of Silence. Planting the seeds through the words, beyond the words."

Marie is a regular at The OM Studio, she came along to lazy Sundays around 4 years ago and found it a safe space to express. From there she tried Meditations with Alison that progressed to Yoga and Soulfuls Singing Group with Debbie OM. She found the energy of the Om Studio really does speak for itself, no words needed.

Marie started consciously expressing through poetry around 5 years ago which was a way to say what I wanted to say in her relationships really, but then it moved onto the beauty of nature and questioning the mind and what is the truth. She is now inspired through the simple things of just walking her dog and really taking time to see the things around her and acknowledge how she is truly feeling. Being present and witnessing when the mind is judging or playing out a pattern.

She has expressed that sharing her poetry publicly is both scary and exciting! The excitement of planting seeds to help others and also the scary being the one listened too. Come and support Marie as she faces her fear and the uncomfortable sensations of being on stage for her first full Poetry set! We are so excited to hear this young talent share her Heart and words of Freedom with us.

Your Compere: Poet and Storyteller Rachael "Raye" White aka The Bendy Witch.

Having loved writing as a kid because she was painfully shy and found it very difficult to express herself verbally, Raye randomly started writing Poetry again during an anxiety attack in the London Underground in 2014, whilst mid way through an Authentic Success Coaching program with Dr Robert Holden. She got to read out her poem “Dancing In-Between the I’s” and it was received with a standing ovation! An unexpected success indeed.

In 2015 she ended up in Spain for 6 months and became a Monk teaching Meditation for a few years. However, the poetry flood gates had opened and the “Poetry Pixies” persisted in pestering her until she rather surprisingly started performing her poems at Scribal Gathering in 2019. She’s been a regular performer for “Ode to the Siren” as part of the Stony Live festival.

Raye is a senior Yoga teacher, teaching at Whitespace Yoga Studio in Milton Keynes and also runs her own Yoga business offering online classes and Shamanic therapies from her boat in Northampton, as well as in-person workshops and retreats.

A modern day Mystic, she loves writing about the Magickal, the Mystical and the Mundane. In 2022 she started “The Silent Revolution” to help people reconnect with their most authentic selves and find more Joy in their Hearts and their everyday mundane existence. She wishes to bring people together not just in the Silence through Meditation, but in Heartfelt connection, through their shared stories, songs and poems.. And so here we are experiencing a wish being fulfilled in Saturday Night @ The OM, where Raye performs, comperes and weaves together the theme with the other performers throughout the night.

Host: Debbie OM

Debbie OM and the OM Studio are all about how awareness of the body/mind connection has a profound effect on the quality of our lives.  She had her first visions of the OM Studio in 2003 after returning from a Mantra Retreat with one of her Beloved teachers Muz Murray. You can read more about the birth of the OM Studio here

event_description_image_160543_1708613370_c64f3.png?_a=BAAASyDQ

Debbies own Yoga journey started in 1995 with Mary Davis as she rediscovered through Yoga the enjoyment of movement, ease and fluidity in her body, which led her to training to become a Yoga teacher. She felt like she was on a mission to finding more meaning through life. It was in 2000 she met Muz, whom work with the Sanskrit alphabet and Mantra, she has described as a revelation.

Debbie has a clear vision of continually creating a safe space for bringing souls together to work on letting go of past hurts. She envisions creating a space for the heart to rest and feel safe for self enquiry into the NOW moment.

In 2006 she found herself at the foot of the Divine Arunarchala mountain in India which re-opened within her the joy of sound, dance and music. Unknown to her it had been buried and forgotten, however the mantra was now fully bringing this remembrance back to life.

Debbie supports Saturday Night @ The OM with her Presence, welcoming all who join us and provides the delicious nibbles and refreshments we have in the break. Sometimes she joins us on the stage to sing and also for the Q & A.
