In-Person Meditation Cafe - Meditation Made Easy
Every Monday at 7.30pm I (Raye) run an online Meditation Cafe. It is my intention, as part of growing The Silent Revolution, to make in-person Meditation Cafe opportunities available for people to join in at least once a month in different areas. This is our first in-person group gathering.
There's a minimum donation requirement for in-person gatherings of £5 to cover the cost of hiring/heating the venue and travel expenses. If you can't make it in person as it's out of your area, then you can still livestream in with donation appreciated and optional.
We do some breath work and practice Heart Words Meditation, creating personal Heart Word Mantras through Self Enquiry. We share our experience to get clear on what is us, what is not us, how to recognise the not-self, how to grow the Silence within us and expand awareness of our own Consciousness which brings us a sense of coming home, and we literally, through Meditation are coming home to ourSelves.
Meditation Cafe is designed to show you how easy Meditation can be. The mind may try to complicate it but you'll receive guidance on how to keep it simple so you can practice with confidence on your own, anywhere, with your eyes closed or your eyes open. Yes you can Meditate with your eyes open, the reason being that we're strengthening your alertness muscle, that which is alert and Present.
People that Meditate regularly often experience a deeper sense of Connection, Appreciation and Compassion with themselves, others and the world at large.

Here's the usual order of events:
7.30pm - Welcomes and introductions
7.40pm - Pranayama breath work practice
7.50pm - Leading straight into Heart Words Meditation practice
8.20pm - Coming out of Silence eyes closed into eyes open practice
8.30pm - Tea & Cake, Q&A's, sharing up to 9pm (online persons can leave when they like)
About Me (Raye):
I was an Ishaya Monk for 5 years, known as Rajita Ishaya. I spent 6 months on a mountain in Spain, learning how to become aware of the Silence and Presence within and learning how to help others find it too. I'm a senior Yoga teacher having taught for 16 years and I'm also trained in many Holistic Therapies, Reiki to Master level, Crystal Therapy and Shamanic Healing.

As a person with ADHD and sensory processing disorder, I have a history of anxiety, panic attacks and sensory overwhelm. Not knowing about different neuro-types as a child, I always thought I was broken and needed fixing. I know very well what it is to suffer and I have a deep empathy for ur human condition.
Yoga, Meditation and my ongoing personal healing journey, helps me to see beyond my own and others limited thinking, that I'm not broken and nor are you. We are both Human and Divine, navigating a dance between suffering and Bliss. Somewhere beyond this apparent duality, through consistent Meditation practice, a sense of inner Peace and Compassion with whatever I appear to be suffering has grown and is continuing to grow.
My Meditation style is more pointed towards, not how can we transcend suffering, but the self enquiry:
How we can Love ourselves and each other better?
In the Presence of Universal Love, not the tainted, romanticised love that many artists and poets (including myself) write about, we suffer less because we feel connected to something bigger than the idea of Love. We learn to welcome this Love within that nourishes us and protects us from the inside out. In the Presence of this Love we feel more at home in our own skin, needing less outside validation that we're loveable and therefore we suffer less.
About Meditation:
Meditation, over time, can dissolve the not-Self conditioning, programming and limiting beliefs stored in the bodymind from our childhood and traumas.
Meditation does come with a warning. It can bring trauma to the surface and if that happens you may need external support in the form of a trained therapist to help you navigate through it. As you will see, it is not an either or situation. Meditation, with the right support, can help you release trauma more effortlessly or to at least find some level of Peace with it so you can enjoy life fully in those moments in-between life challenges and navigate life challenges with more ease.
Meditation is not so much as the gaining of some mystical knowledge or aha moments (although you may experience these), but it is a dis-creating of that which is not of your true Nature, bringing you home to what some traditions call your Original Face.
Meditation invites the Self Enquiry:
Who AM I really?
Please read the Meditation Cafe page on my website to make sure Meditation cafe is for you and if necessary contact me to discuss any concerns. You can also find the zoom registration link and donation link there if you can't join us in person but would like to join us through zoom.
