Have-A-Go Side saddle
Sat 19 Aug 2023 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM BST
Reaseheath Equestrian Centre, CW5 6DF
Description
Side saddle riding may be traditional, but it is not old-fashioned! Why not Have a Go? If you have been thinking about trying it for the first time, or if you are considering picking it up again after a break, or even if you are wondering if this could be how you arrive at the church on your wedding day – here’s your chance!
The session will be on a riding horse simulator in an indoor environment - so no waterproofs required! The sessions will be delivered in groups of three and will last around 75 minutes.
Riders will be given a talk about the saddle, how it fits, how to mount and how to sit correctly in the saddle, before being tutored for 20 minutes each, working in walk, trot and canter on the extremely well behaved riding simulator horse, Flicka!
During the session, you will also have plenty of opportunities to have any and all of your side saddle questions answered.
Coaching provided by Valarie Hodgett; BHS Accredited Professional Coach and Side Saddle Association instructor, as well as accredited judge.
£20 per rider, spaces are limited and allocated on a first come first served basis. A small booking fee will be added to the ticket price.
Participants are advised to arrive in good time ahead of their session to the venue.
Please Note:
• Riders must not exceed 13st/82.5kg as this is the safety limit of the riding simulator.
• Please wear suitable footwear and avoid buckles or side zips as these can damage the saddle.
• When booking please ensure that you include your height. The coach will be bringing a selection of saddles to fit riders with different lengths of leg.
