Whether you’re heading out for lessons, competitions or countryside adventures this spring, towing your horse should feel calm, controlled and confidence-boosting — not stressful. Our Equine Trailer Towing Clinic is designed to support horse owners at every stage of their towing journey, helping you feel more assured behind the wheel and confident in your setup.

Since the car and trailer towing test was scrapped in 2021, many drivers are legally able to tow without ever having formal training. But confidence doesn’t come from a licence alone. This clinic offers practical, horse-focused support to help you feel comfortable with manoeuvring, reversing, road driving and the everyday details that make towing smoother and safer.

Your horse’s comfort and safety are at the heart of it all. Picking up a few extra skills, fresh tips and expert guidance can make a real difference — not just on the road, but to your peace of mind and your horse’s experience of travelling.

Expert, tailored training

Sessions are led by an equine-savvy instructor from Towing Solutions Ltd, Britain’s leading towing training organisation. Training is relaxed, practical and tailored to you. No judgement, no pressure, just clear guidance and hands-on support.

You can choose between:

• Individual 1-hour sessions for focused, one-to-one coaching

• Shared 2-hour sessions (ideal if you’d like to attend with a friend)

Sessions can cover:

• Basic safety checks, coupling & uncoupling

• Reversing and manoeuvring

• Road driving

Please note: within a 1-hour individual session, you’ll choose either reversing & manoeuvres or road driving. Shared 2-hour sessions allow both to be covered between you.

Who is it for?

• You already tow but want reassurance and a confidence boost

• You’re new to towing and want supportive, professional guidance

• You’re considering buying a trailer and want training before heading out with your horse

Bring your own car and trailer (not your horse!), or use the provided training vehicle and trailer
Please note: the provided trailer is not a horse trailer.

Cost

• Individual 1-hour session: £80 per person

• Pairs 2-hour session: £75 per person

(If you’d like to be paired with a friend, please let us know at the time of booking.)

Times

Sessions will run between 9am and 4pm. Times will be allocated closer to the date. If you have a preference let us know at the time of booking and we'll do our best to accommodate where possible.

Key terms & conditions (summary - full details available at checkout)

• For paired sessions, you’ll be allocated a partner unless you request a specific person at booking

• Session start times are allocated within the event window and specific requests cannot be guaranteed

• A valid UK driving licence must be presented on arrival — without it, participation may not be possible and refunds cannot be issued

• If using your own vehicle and trailer, adequate insurance is required and both must be roadworthy

• If a vehicle or trailer is deemed unroadworthy by the instructor, training can continue using the provided vehicle
