Inaugural Readery Rumble--Team Book Trivia Challenge
Prove you are the kind of person who will voluntarily read a 400-page book about neuroscience because there is a trophy at the end.
(But don't worry, we decided against that particular book.)
The Readery Rumble Rules: Teams of 3-5 register and divide up the FIVE books below however they want. Then we meet in July for trivia, beer, and glory! That's right; you get nearly a YEAR to read these books. The winning team will be invited back the following year to defend their trophy at no cost!
But, prepare yourselves, this is no ordinary battle of the books. This year's question is: What does it mean to be human, and how should we live? Yes, this is a NERD-A-THON. So, grab your geekiest friends and glasses, and let's get our very first Readery Rumble rolling!
Books: BRAIDING SWEETGRASS (Robin Wall Kimmerer), ONE HUNDRED YEARS OF SOLITUDE (Gabriel Garcia Marquez), MAN'S SEARCH FOR MEANING (Viktor E. Frankl), THE BLUEST EYE (Toni Morrison), & THE THREE-BODY PROBLEM (Cixin Liu)
Ages: While only those 21+ can drink at the trivia night, the books and the challenge are probably appropriate for anyone 17+ (check them out for yourself to decide!)
