A "get to know one another" session, for our consent-based, self-directed home-educated community
Multiple dates and times
Bramblewood, WR3 8JE
Description
This is a one-off "get to know one another" session for families who are interested in our consent-based, self-directed home-educated community in the heart of Worcester.
Spend a couple of hours in our woodland-based home-educated community with your child. You'll get to meet our trained and caring team of adults, the other children who make up our community and get to explore our beautiful and diverse woodland home.
Over the course of the two hours, you'll get to see how our sessions work (including our opening/closing meetings) and how your child may enjoy them unaccompanied thereafter; likewise, we'll have a good opportunity to check how we might be able to support your child's needs week-to-week.
Sessions fees: "Get to know one another" sessions are priced at £10, which is then deducted off your full booking cost if & when your child joins our community moving forward.
We have a sibling discount; please do email us for details and we will share with you- wildandrootedcic@gmail.com.
A little more about our sessions...
From our beginnings in 2017, our small forest school has been developing and evolving, seeing wonderful journeys of brilliance and growth along the way. Merging the principles of Forest School with those of consent-based and self-directed learning, we are now delighted to be able to offer a space that has been curated by home educators and experienced professionals to meet the needs of families who want to offer their children time within a broad age range, consent based, self-directed, social community.
Being situated in beautiful Bramblewood, we are able to benefit from, and contribute to, its fantastic natural affordances, meaning that everything you read about 'Forest School' on our website can also apply here. Our sessions are not, however, limited to this, and if children’s self-direction inspires small groups to request and plan exploration beyond traditional ‘Forest School’ activities (e.g. playing cards, visiting the local park, a trip out of the wood and into the nearby town, for instance), then we endeavour to feed this curiosity.
We recognise that you may well benefit from having a further discussion about how our home-educated community might be able to support your child(ren); if so please do get in touch by email, where we can either answer your questions, or arrange a phone call.
