What if the most important work of our time begins not with fixing the world, but with transforming the way we see it?
An introductory talk about the Ishayas’ Ascension meditation and how to join a course with us
If you're reading this, perhaps you're looking for something — a little more quiet amid the noise, a way to make sense of the uncertainty around us, or simply a deeper sense of presence in daily life. Perhaps you already sense that we are One but wonder what that actually means and how to experience it in everyday life, not just in fleeting moments of grace.
If any of this resonates, you're warmly invited to join us, where we will share with you about our practice and how you can learn with us.
Ascension meditation is an ancient non-duality practice taught all over the world and it all begins with a simple question: what do you truly want? In this introductory talk, we'll share our personal journeys with Ascension and how it has transformed the way we live, work, and participate in the systems we are part of.
We will also teach a simple technique in its own right, a precursor to the fuller practice, that helps us build the capacity to observe: to notice the space between the watcher and thoughts - the first step towards loosening our identification with the busy mind and accessing a deeper experience of life.
During this introduction, we will:
- Explain what Ascension meditation is, and how it differs from other ways of meditating
- Teach a simple technique you can start using straight away to improve awareness
- Share what Ascension can offer you in your own life
- Walk you through the course format and how we teach
- Share all details, dates & times of upcoming courses
- Explain what support is available after you learn
This talk is a genuine introduction, you're welcome to simply come, listen and take what's useful, whether or not you go on to join a course. It is suitable if you're completely new to meditation, have been practising for years, or are simply curious. All are welcome.

Vasundhara has worked for environmental change and social justice for more than 25 years. Her passion for change led her down many paths of spiritual enquiry before coming to Ascension in 2010. She has been sharing this practice for the last 10 years, passionately supporting others to directly experience inner personal transformation to meet today’s global complexities.
Kali has been teaching as an Ishaya for over 10 years. She has also spent many years at the intersection of social and environmental change and transformational practice, in combination with a background in regenerative design. Her passion is helping people rediscover the clarity, ease and authenticity that emerge through Ascension, so we can engage with life with greater presence, wisdom and compassion.

The Bigger Picture...
The times we live in call for deep transformation. We see it in our communities, institutions, governments, and in ourselves. We live in a world that is more connected than ever, yet many of us feel increasingly disconnected: searching for meaning, clarity and the capacity to navigate an ever more complex and shifting world.
Modern culture has taught us to fo
cus our attention outward, seeking change from the outside-in through technology, policy, or strategy. These approaches matter, yet lasting transformation asks something more of us: the capacity to turn inward.
The future is shaped not only by what we do, but by the state of consciousness from which we do it. What if the most important work of our time, the real revolution, begins with not fixing the world, but with transforming the way we perceive it?
Every system is created, sustained, and transformed by people. The quality of our institutions cannot be separated from the quality of consciousness that shapes them. If we hope to create a more compassionate, resilient, and life-giving world, perhaps the place to begin is with the quality of our own attention.
Inner work is not an escape from the world. It is a way of participating in it more consciously.
